The basic flow
- Install the GitHub App on the GitHub account or organization you want ActionWatch to watch.
- Open ActionWatch and sign in with GitHub.
- Let ActionWatch confirm the installations and repository access available to your account.
- Wait for the first history load if ActionWatch has not seen enough GitHub Actions data yet.
Why the app install matters
ActionWatch reads GitHub Actions activity through the GitHub App installation. If the app is not installed on the account or organization you care about, ActionWatch will not be able to see those repositories.
Installing the app does not automatically mean every repository is available right away. The installation can be scoped to selected repositories, and organizations may also limit who can access or approve installations.
What to expect on first use
When you first sign in, ActionWatch checks for the repositories and GitHub Actions history it can actually access. If data is still warming up, the product keeps you in setup and explains what is happening instead of dropping you into an empty app.
A short delay after install is normal, especially when ActionWatch is loading enough recent workflow history to make the first dashboards useful.
