Getting started
Install and connect ActionWatch
Install the GitHub App, sign in, and load your first workflow history.
Set up ActionWatch #
- Install the GitHub App on the GitHub account or organization you want to connect.
- Open ActionWatch and sign in with GitHub.
- ActionWatch checks which installations and repositories your GitHub account can access.
- Once enough workflow history has loaded, ActionWatch opens your workspace.
Why the GitHub App matters #
ActionWatch reads GitHub Actions activity through the GitHub App installation. If the app is not installed on an account or organization, ActionWatch cannot see its repositories.
Installing the app does not always make every repository available. An installation can be limited to selected repositories, and organizations can restrict who is allowed to use or approve installations.
What to expect on first use #
When you first sign in, ActionWatch checks which repositories and GitHub Actions history it can access. If it is still loading data, the setup page shows the current status instead of opening an empty workspace.
A short delay after installation is normal while ActionWatch loads enough recent workflow history to fill the first dashboards.
