Alert rules vs. active alerts
- Alert rules describe what ActionWatch should watch for.
- Active alerts are the problems that are currently firing because those conditions are being met.
What users can do
Depending on the product surface and permissions available, users can review alerts, acknowledge them, mute an alert definition, or resolve an active problem after the underlying issue is understood.
Who sees what
Alert visibility follows the ActionWatch account and repository context a person is working in. The goal is for teams to see the alerts that are relevant to their own CI reliability picture without forcing everyone into operator-level tooling.
Notifications
Browser or in-app notifications are there to help surface fresh alert activity. They are not the durable source of truth. If you miss a realtime notification, the alert surfaces inside ActionWatch remain the place to confirm current status.
